Temporary Road Closure on Davis Drive

Metrolinx is completing railway crossing rehabilitation work, resulting in the temporary closure of Davis Drive between Main Street and Prospect Street in the Town of Newmarket. Once the railway work is completed, York Region will restore the adjacent roadway. The Town of Newmarket is completing a critical sanitary sewer repair near the railway crossing as part of this closure to reduce future road closures and tra­ffic disruptions.

Duration: Friday, November 13, 2026 at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 6 a.m.

Impacts to travellers

  • Traffic and pedestrians will need to detour around the closure
  • Westbound access will be maintained up to:
    • The Tannery Mall/Newmarket GO Station, 465 Davis Drive
    • Newmarket Seniors’ Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive
  • Eastbound access will be maintained up to Superior Street
  • Local access to properties will be maintained within the closure limits; however, there will be no through access at the railway crossing
  • Emergency services will be required to use detour routes to access locations on the opposite side of the railway crossing, including Southlake Health
  • York Region Transit routes will be detoured; visit yrt.ca to plan your route
  • GO Transit service may be disrupted; visit gotransit.com/schedules before travelling
  • Signs will be in place to guide travellers

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region and Metrolinx will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the closure period.
