York Region paramedics deliver warmth and care on Christmas Eve

In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, York Region Paramedic Services brought comfort and joy to elderly and pediatric patients this Christmas Eve by hand-making, donating and personally delivering cozy blankets.
Paramedics from across the region came together in the weeks leading up to the holidays, dedicating their time to craft and purchase blankets. On December 24, teams visited local hospitals, surprising patients with the thoughtful gifts.
The gesture was met with smiles, tears and heartfelt gratitude from recipients and their families. It’s a shining example of how frontline workers continue to go above and beyond—not just in emergencies, but in building a stronger, safer and compassionate community.
