York Region acknowledges the devastating flash flooding along the Nepal-China border

On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating flash floods that have impacted communities along the Nepal-China border.

Natural disasters of this kind impact communities across the world, causing significant loss and hardships for thousands of people, especially those mourning the loss of loved ones and those anxiously waiting for news of family members who remain missing. 

York Region is home to residents with family and friends with strong connections around the world. It is an incredibly worrying time with at least 30 Canadians remain unaccounted for, and whose families continue to await news of their loved ones.

We recognize the resilience of Canadians impacted, and the people of Nepal and China, plus the dedication of emergency responders and volunteers working to support those in need.
