York Region celebrates Victoria Day long weekend

On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I extend warm wishes to all residents celebrating the Victoria Day long weekend across our communities. 

The holiday weekend offers an opportunity to reconnect with the people and places that matter most. Whether you’re spending time outdoors, exploring York Region’s parks, trails, main streets and local attractions, gathering with neighbours or simply enjoying a quiet moment at home, I hope everyone has the chance to relax and make lasting memories.

For many, Victoria Day marks the unofficial start of summer in our communities and a chance to celebrate everything that makes York Region such a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work and raise a family.

I also extend our thanks and appreciation to the dedicated frontline and essential workers who continue serving our communities throughout the holiday, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, health care professionals, transit operators and public works staff. Their commitment helps ensure residents can enjoy a safe and enjoyable long weekend.

On behalf of Regional Council, thank you to all residents for helping make York Region such a strong, connected and caring community.
