York Region Transit (YRT) service changes take effect Sunday, April 26, 2026
Newmarket – York Region Transit (YRT) service changes will take effect Sunday, April 26, 2026. Schedule and route changes are made to meet changing customer demand.
YRT service changes effective Sunday, April 26, 2026, include:
- On‑Request Newmarket Local: Consolidated into On‑Request North‑Central to provide travellers with expanded service, including seven‑day‑a‑week availability and extended morning and evening hours
- On‑Request Stouffville: Introduced weekend service, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays/holidays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Route 9 – Ninth Line: Schedules adjusted to improve connections with GO trains at Stouffville GO Station
- Routes 50 – Queensway and 51 – Keswick: Adjusted to operate along John Dallimore Drive, Dovedale Drive and Woodbine Avenue; due to area redevelopment, service relocated from the Keswick Marketplace property to public roads
- The Marketplace will still be accessible from Glenwoods Avenue, Woodbine Avenue and Dovedale Drive
- Routes 320 – Jane Express and 360 – Vaughan Mills/Wonderland: Adjusted to match Vaughan Mills and Canada’s Wonderland hours

Public consultation for the 2027 Annual Transit Plan begins this May
YRT is inviting residents to share feedback on the draft 2027 Annual Transit Plan through a virtual public consultation running from May 3 to May 31, 2026. Help inform service and route improvements for 2027 and shape the future of transit in York Region. Every comment helps us plan services that better meet your needs.
Travellers can review the proposed plan online and provide input, with in-person outreach at select terminals and community venues across all municipalities throughout May. Details on the consultation and outreach locations and times are posted at yrt.ca/TransitPlan
