Join us for York Region’s Remembrance Day Service
Newmarket – Members of the community and media are invited to join The Regional Municipality of York for a Remembrance Day service Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to honour the lives and sacrifices of Canadian heroes who have served, or continue to serve, our country.

Who:
- York Region Chairman and CEO Eric Jolliffe
- York Region Chief Administrative Officer Erin Mahoney
- York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween
- Members of Canadian Armed Forces
- Crystal Cook, CUPE 4900 President and Master of Ceremonies
Background:
- Two minutes of silence will be observed at 11 a.m.
- The ceremony will feature military veterans, members of the York Regional Police and York Region Paramedic Services ceremonial units
- The Presentation of Wreaths will be conducted in memory of all veterans, soldiers, sailors and airmen
A memorial display, including a travelling exhibit commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Aurora War Memorial, will be available for viewing in the Great Hall of the Administrative Centre at 17250 Yonge Street, from Friday, November 7 to Monday, November 17, and at 17150 Yonge Street from Tuesday, November 18 to Sunday, November 30.
