By creating an account, users gain access to additional online self-service options and services that will be added to york.ca over time. Through My York Region Account, York Region can authenticate users and communicate personalized services, information or updates about a request.

How to create a new account
If you have not already created an account, please follow the instructions below to create one.
- Click Login in the top right-hand corner of york.ca
- Click Create an Account button.
- Enter the fields on the screen.
- Read the Notice of Collection.
- Click the link to read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and agree to abide by them.
- Verify that the user is over 18 years of age (individuals under 18 are not able to create an account).
- Click Continue.
- A verification code will be sent to the email address associated to the account.
- Enter the verification code into york.ca within one hour.
- Optional: Enter the optional contact information. Click Save.
- An email will be sent confirming the account has been created.
Trouble signing in to My York Region Account
If you have already created a York Region account and received an email confirmation, double check the provided email address and password are correct. The system will automatically lock the account for one hour if the incorrect information is entered five times.

- Click Login in the top right-hand corner of york.ca
- Click Forgot Your Password?
- A verification code will be sent to the email address associated to the account.
- Enter the verification code into york.ca within one hour.
- Choose a new secure password to be logged in to My YR Account Services.
- A confirmation email will be sent to confirm the password has been changed.
How to change the password while already logged in
- Click Login in the top right-hand corner of york.ca
- Sign in using the current email address and password.
- Click My Account.
- Click Change Password button.
- A verification code will be sent to the email address associated to the account.
- Enter the verification code into york.ca within one hour.
- Choose a new secure password.
- A confirmation email will be sent to confirm the password has been changed.
