Rules and Regulations
Drop off during business hours only. Recyclable items are accepted free of charge. Fees apply for items dropped off as garbage and refrigerated appliances. Limit 10 tires per visit. All Household Hazardous Waste materials must be in original packaging or well-labeled. Do not mix substances. Please drop off household hazardous waste, including gasoline, in containers you do not wish to keep as containers must be left behind. Sharps must be in a rigid, puncture-proof container (such as an empty bleach bottle) with a tight fitting lid labelled 'Needles/ Sharps'. Household hazardous waste (HHW) is accepted from York Region residents only. Residents may drop off up to 60 litres of HHW per day and 20 compact fluorescent light bulbs per day. Industrial, commercial or institutional hazardous waste materials are not accepted. We do not accept green bin organic waste, industrial waste, clean fill/soil or loads larger than a 16 foot cube van.
