York Region extends warm wishes for a happy new year
On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, it gives me great pleasure to wish all York Region residents a happy new year.
New Year’s Day is always a hopeful time as we celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. While 2022 was difficult and challenging for many, we can look back on the year with knowledge that brighter days are ahead of us.
York Region continues to be one of the fastest growing and most diverse communities in Canada. With an eye on the future, Regional Council celebrates our growing and diverse population as a source of strength, vitality and economic opportunity and remains committed to advancing our vision of strong, caring, safe communities.
In the year ahead, the health and safety of all who call our communities home will remain a top priority for Regional Council. At the same time, we will continue to focus on the priorities and issues that matter most to our residents by investing in key programs and infrastructure projects critical to the economic recovery of our communities.
Today, with hope and optimism, I again thank our residents and businesses for your support in following public health measures and helping reach a point where we are living with COVID-19. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will continue to support our communities in the year ahead.
I wish all York Region residents the best for a happy and healthy 2023.
Happy New Year!
