Let's talk about Housing Affordability on May 1, 2024
Join York Region virtually in a Public Information Session on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
From 5 to 7 p.m. you can hear first-hand York Region’s potential options for the 2024 Affordable Private Market Housing Implementation Plan.
This information session will include:
- Highlights of the Affordable Private Market Housing Implementation Plan ahead of its submission to York Regional Council in September 2024
- Details on identifying partnerships to help address affordability challenges in the private housing market
- Q&A: An opportunity to engage with York Region staff with any questions or comments about the Affordable Private Market Housing Implementation Plan
Please note this session is related to private market housing and not an information session on subsidized housing options.
York Region continues taking proactive steps to prioritize housing needs, including greater diversity and affordable options for all ages, abilities, income levels and stages of life. This new plan will focus on action and advocacy to prioritize affordable housing options in partnership with other levels of government, the development industry and other stakeholders. Everyone plays a critical part in solving the housing affordability crisis.
The Affordable Private Market Housing Implementation Plan is one of many strategies underway to address the affordability crisis, including:
