Highway 7 retaining wall rehabilitation

York Region is rehabilitating a retaining wall supporting soil on the south side of Highway 7, between Albert Street/Cosburn Road and Wideman Street/Christman Court, in the City of Markham.

Duration: Late March 2024 to late April 2024

Impacts to travellers

  • The road will remain open to through traffic; however, lane shifts and intermittent lane closures will be required:
    • Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • The sidewalk on the south side of Highway 7 will be closed and pedestrians must use crossings at Albert Street/Cosburn Road and Wooten Way
  • Access to homes and businesses will be maintained

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
