The Task Force recommends receipt of the presentation by Adelina Urbanski, Commissioner, Community and Health Services regarding “Orientation Meeting Recap, October 22, 2015”, which highlighted topics including principles for future discussions, government funded services for seniors, a profile of low income/ vulnerable seniors and discounts and rate reductions.
2. Financing Municipal Services in Aging Communities
The Task Force recommends receipt of the presentation by Harry Kitchen, Professor Emeritus, Trent University regarding “Financing Municipal Services in Aging Communities”. 3. Well-Being of Seniors in York Region
The Task Force recommends receipt and referral to staff of the communication from the Markham Ward 6 Seniors Association, dated September 22, 2015 regarding “Well-Being of Seniors in York Region”.

The Task Force discussed possible future topics such as national and international best practices, as well as a more detailed review of financial matters relating to seniors.

The next meeting is scheduled on February 24, 2016 at 9 a.m.
